Look How Far We’ve Come & What’s Ahead: Sausalito’s Strategic Planning Highlights
Last Saturday, City staff and Councilmembers held a strategic planning session, and we were impressed by the productive discussion. The City Manager presented a "report card" on progress toward the 2020 strategic plan’s five key goals and 166 tasks. His slides highlight impressive accomplishments, and you can watch the video of this portion here.
Key highlights include:
Creating a Safer, More Enjoyable Ferry Plaza & Promenade: Near completion of the Ferry Landside Improvement Project, including transforming Tracy Way into an enjoyable Parisian-style pedestrian promenade.
Claiming Our Artistic Legacy: Strengthening Sausalito’s artistic identity with a long-term lease for the Sausalito Center for the Arts.
Revitalizing Our Downtown: Creating Sausalito’s first-ever Business Improvement District.
Highlighting Our Caledonia Street Businesses: Attracting locals and visitors to Caledonia Street with Toast to Sausalito.
Showcasing Our Maritime Excellence: Hosting the 2nd Annual Boat Show at Clipper Yacht Harbor.
And much more! Check out the slides below.
We were also thrilled to see the City Council come together on key priorities for 2025.
Highlights include:
Infrastructure improvements: Agree on a top-10 priority list including repaving streets, repairing stairs, sidewalks, assessing the state of our facilities, and more.
Economic development & Fiscal Resiliency: Create a short-and long-term plan for economic growth focused on fiscal resiliency, and create an asset management plan.
Housing: Focus on creating more housing in alignment with the city’s housing element.
Community Safety & Climate Resiliency: Strengthening protections against fire, landslides, and sea-level rise.
And there’s more to come! A full list of priorities will be shared later this month by the facilitator (who is also the current mayor of Manhattan Beach).
